Here is the Official Project Rico Rulebook. This contains all rules that are to be followed by our Community Members at all times while being in the city.
Our rules are made with High Quality Roleplay & The Player at mind.
These rules are just a basic guideline of what good Roleplay looks like, and is not there to limit Roleplay, but to enhance it.

1. General Rules
- 1.1
Value Your Life (VDM): Your character should act as if they value their life. Do not put yourself in situations where death is likely just because you can respawn. Treat dangerous situations with appropriate caution.
- 1.2
No Random Death Match (RDM): Do not kill other players without valid roleplay reason. All violence must be initiated through proper roleplay scenarios.
- 1.3
No Vehicle Death Match (VDM): Do not use vehicles as weapons to kill other players. Vehicles should be operated realistically and safely.
- 1.4
Metagaming: Using information your character wouldn't know in-game is prohibited. This includes information from Discord, Twitch streams, or out-of-character conversations.
- 1.5
Powergaming: Forcing scenarios on other players or performing unrealistic actions is not allowed. Give others fair opportunity to respond in roleplay situations.
2. Communication Rules
- 2.1
In-Character (IC) vs Out-of-Character (OOC): Keep IC and OOC separate. Do not bring OOC issues into IC interactions or vice versa.
- 2.2
Voice Chat: Stay in character while using proximity voice chat. Use appropriate channels for OOC communication.
- 2.3
No Toxicity: Harassment, discrimination, hate speech, or excessive toxicity will not be tolerated. Treat all players with respect.
- 2.4
Breaking Character: Avoid breaking character in public scenarios. If you need to discuss something OOC, use the appropriate channels or private messages.
3. Roleplay Scenarios
- 3.1
New Life Rule (NLR): After your character dies, you must forget the circumstances that led to your death. You cannot return to the same scenario for at least 15 minutes.
- 3.2
Robbery Cooldowns: After being involved in a robbery (as either the robber or victim), you must wait 1 hour before participating in another robbery scenario.
- 3.3
Hostage Situations: Treat hostage situations with realism. Do not take excessive numbers of hostages, and ensure all hostage scenarios have a reasonable roleplay purpose.
- 3.4
Gang/Criminal Activity: All criminal activities must have proper roleplay initiation. Random acts of violence without roleplay context are not permitted.
4. Law Enforcement Rules
- 4.1
Cop Baiting: Intentionally provoking police officers without a roleplay purpose is prohibited.
- 4.2
Police SOPs: Law enforcement officers must follow their Standard Operating Procedures. Abuse of police powers will result in removal from the department.
- 4.3
Corrupt Cops: Police corruption RP is not allowed without explicit permission from server administration.
- 4.4
EMS/Fire Department: These emergency services must prioritize saving lives. Refusing service without valid roleplay reason is not permitted.
5. Server-Specific Rules
- 5.1
Exploits & Hacking: Using game exploits, hacks, mods, or any unauthorized third-party software is strictly prohibited.
- 5.2
Character Names: Use realistic names for your character. Offensive, celebrity, or joke names are not allowed.
- 5.3
Server Restarts: Be aware of scheduled server restarts. Plan your roleplay accordingly to avoid disruption.
- 5.4
Bug Reporting: Report any bugs or issues to the appropriate channels in Discord. Exploiting known bugs is prohibited.
- 5.5
Staff Decisions: Staff decisions are final. If you disagree with a decision, take it to the appropriate appeal channels in Discord.
6. Consequences for Rule Violations
- 6.1
Warning System: Minor infractions will typically result in a warning. Multiple warnings may lead to temporary or permanent bans.
- 6.2
Temporary Bans: Serious or repeated violations may result in temporary bans ranging from 1 day to 30 days.
- 6.3
Permanent Bans: Extreme violations, hacking, or repeated serious offenses will result in permanent removal from the server.
- 6.4
Appeals: Ban appeals can be submitted through the official Discord. Each case will be reviewed individually by the admin team.
Remember, these rules exist to ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience. Good roleplay enhances everyone's experience and creates memorable moments.
